The fifth Triangle-wide photography competition honoring the memory of the late photographer Will Grossman opens this Saturday at Through This Lens Gallery, 303 E. Chapel Hill Street, downtown Durham (conveniently close to many of the Full Frame Festival venues). This wonderful show, with its respectably large cash prizes, draws entries from many of the area’s most talented and imaginative photographers, and this year’s submissions far exceeded the numbers entered in the previous contests. It is supported by the Grossman family and the generous work of Roylee Duvall, owner of Through This Lens.

The winners will be announced at the opening reception, Saturday, April 8, from 5-7 p.m. Expect the walls to be filled with interesting images of all photographic types, and the room to be jammed with photographers. If you can’t make the opening, be sure to see the show before it closes May 13. Maybe buy a photograph.
