The North Carolina Symphony under Grant Llewellyn gets even more exciting with Branford Marsalis sharing the stage for the Symphony’s season-opening weekend. Two men is finely-cut tail coats and white tie! But no kidding, the program is excellent. It repeats tonight and tomorrow in Raleigh.  Here’s the link to my Classical Voice review.

Also this weekend, the Chamber Orchestra of the Triangle, the wonderful group that performs a series of highly enjoyable Sunday concerts throughout the year in Durham’s Carolina Theatre, is having its annual gala fundraiser. “A Little Night Music XVII” takes place Sunday, Sept. 21 from 5-8 at Whitehall at the Villa in Chapel Hill.
