The American Dance Festival begins its 80th season tonight in the Durham Performing Arts Center. The first event showcases the brilliant dance language continually being invented by Shen Wei, who began his career at ADF. The program will feature the premiere of a flowing mature work, COLLECTIVE MEASURES, then look back to the wondrous NEAR THE TERRACE, created at ADF 2000. Highly recommended. Please note, the 6-13 performance begins at 7 p.m.
Here are a few photos, taken last night at the dress rehearsal. My review will appear tomorrow afternoon on cvnc.org, and I will link to it here.
